Structured Cabling Engineer (Data & Fibre)

Levels Available: Level 1, 2, or 3 (based on experience)

Location: UK-wide (travel required)

Hours: 07:30–16:30, 40 hours/week

Salary: £33,000–£38,000 (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent Holiday: 22 days + bank holidays

The Role

Seeking dependable, enthusiastic engineers to join a growing delivery team. You'll work on internal and external copper and fibre cabling installations, deploying containment systems and maintaining high standards across varied environments—offices, manufacturing plants, construction sites, and data centres.

Responsibilities

Level 1

  • Install, terminate, and test Cat6/Cat6a and fibre cabling
  • Deploy containment (conduit, trunking, tray, basket)
  • Diagnose faults in structured cabling systems
  • Install Wi-Fi access points, UPS units, and AV equipment
  • Follow safety protocols and complete documentation

Level 2/3 (Senior)

  • Create/manage risk assessments and method statements
  • Oversee project delivery and deadlines
  • Conduct site surveys and produce technical documentation
  • Liaise with clients and manage updates
  • Recommend solutions and support change control

Requirements

Essential

  • CSCS/ECS site card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • IPAF/PASMA training
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling (data & fibre)
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills
  • Flexible, organised, and detail-oriented

Desirable

  • SC Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • 3+ years’ experience in structured cabling
  • CNET CNCI qualification
  • Experience in defence, manufacturing, or data centre environments
  • Knowledge of JSP453 and TEMPEST/Security regulations
