Description

We are seeking a DAS Installation Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications space

Our company is actively engaged in a variety of projects, with a strong pipeline of work and great opportunities for advancement. Our installations consist of:

·        Cellular Antenna Systems

·        IBS/IDAS (In-Building Systems/ Distributed Antenna Systems)

·        Access Control & Security Systems

·        Network & Data Center Cabling

The technician will work in teams of 3-4, typically consisting of 1 Lead Technician and 2-3 supporting techs or helpers.

Responsibilities

As a technician you are engaged in a variety of in-building and outdoor wireless projects. These initiatives include the construction and maintenance of wireless access points, antennas, GPS systems, amongst other telecommunications equipment across facilities in office buildings, on rooftops, and on tower sites.

Daily work tasks include:

·        Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot telecommunications & low voltage cabling including: Coax, Cat5e/6, Fiber Optic

·        Install Cable pathway & support systems including cable tray, J hooks, conduit, core drilling, etc.

·        Install wireless access points, antennas, and other telecommunications end points

·        Perform rack and stack hardware installations

·        Execute proper cable dressing and labeling

·        Maintaining a safe and clean work area with orderly tools

·        Maintaining customer confidence by performing outstanding work

Qualifications

·        Expertise in the proper installation of vendor­ neutral cable systems to support Voice, Video, Data, Security and Building Systems (Most systems deployed are coax and fiber­ based, so hands-on experience with both is essential)

·        Demonstrating proficiency and quality during the installation of project-specific components and equipment that is consistent with manufacturer and company standards

·        Hands-on experience in rack and stack installations

·        Able to perform physical labor and lift 50lbs

·        Must possess or obtain OSHA 10 Safety Certification (within 2 weeks of hire)

·        MUST be reliable and have a strong work ethic

·        DAS experience is but not a must for this role

·        Travel to projects 20%+ of the time

For Lead Technicians, in addition to the above qualifications you must possess:

·        Proven ability to oversee ISP and network cable construction

·        Terminating and testing copper and optical fiber cable to the highest level of industry-recognized specifications. (Testing includes PIM, Sweep, Antenna alignment, Optic dB Loss, DC Voltage)

·        Working knowledge of industry codes, standards and best practices

·        Ability to conduct site surveys

·        OSHA 30 and CPR Safety Certification (or obtain within 2 weeks of hire)

·        Fiber Optic splicing is a major plus but not required

Benefits

The pay range for Technician is $23- $28 and Lead Technician is $30-$35 an hr.
