Traveling Construction Superintendent
Etzel Engineer and Build, Inc.
Location: Nationwide Travel | Projects Across the U.S.
Compensation: Approximately $100,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus, vehicle allowance, per diem, and benefits

Etzel Engineer and Build, Inc. is seeking experienced Traveling Construction Superintendents to lead projects throughout the United States, with a particular focus on mission-critical, data center, high-reliability, and complex commercial construction.
This is a hands-on field leadership position for a Superintendent who can take ownership of day-to-day site operations, coordinate multiple trades, drive the project schedule, maintain a safe and organized jobsite, and represent Etzel professionally with clients, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project closeout.
- Coordinate subcontractors, field personnel, vendors, deliveries, and multiple trades to keep projects moving.
- Own the field schedule and proactively identify potential delays, conflicts, and sequencing issues.
- Prepare and manage weekly 3-week look-ahead schedules.
- Maintain strong jobsite safety standards and ensure work is performed in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate site inspections, testing, field layout, and survey activities.
- Monitor field labor, materials, and other jobsite costs.
- Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation of jobsite activities.
- Lead and participate in project meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve field challenges before they impact schedule, quality, or client expectations.
- Maintain jobsite organization and security.
- Partner closely with the Project Manager throughout construction and manage field responsibilities through punch list, closeout, and warranty.
- Serve as a professional on-site representative of Etzel Engineer and Build.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience, ideally in a Superintendent or comparable field leadership role.
- Proven ability to independently manage construction activities and subcontractors in the field.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and major building trades.
- Mission-critical, data center, high-reliability, healthcare, or technically complex project experience strongly .
- Experience coordinating complex MEP systems is highly desirable, particularly within data center or mission-critical environments.
- Strong scheduling, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to build productive relationships with owners, clients, design teams, inspectors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and project scheduling software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
- OSHA 30 .
- First Aid/CPR/AED, forklift, and aerial lift certifications .
Travel & Schedule
This is a nationwide traveling position. Etzel considers Western Pennsylvania its local market but performs projects in multiple states throughout the country. Candidates must be comfortable traveling and working on-site for assigned projects.
Typical schedules are Monday through Friday, with four 10-hour days utilized on some traveling assignments when project conditions allow.
