Job Summary

We are seeking skilled BICSI Certified Technicians with strong experience in data centers, low-voltage cabling, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will support installation, decommissioning, and maintenance of structured cabling systems within a data center environment while maintaining strict safety, quality, and cleanliness standards.

Location: Richmond Virginia $125 per diem for 5 days

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment
  • Pull, route, terminate, and label copper and fiber cabling (SM, MM, Ribbon)
  • Install ladder racking, seismic bracing, fiber troughs, threaded rod, and Unistrut
  • Patch network equipment and follow port maps and matrices
  • Read, interpret, and redline blueprints, job floor plans, and telecommunications drawings
  • Install and test coax cabling (Series 6 & 11)
  • Install ISP and OSP cabling through conduits, ceilings, and cable enclosures (OSE)
  • Perform copper field terminations and 4-pair continuity testing
  • Create and test bonding whips, grounding straps, and bonding connections
  • Affix labels, barcodes, and identification tags to cabling, power cords, and equipment
  • Maintain data center cleanliness and exhibit high-quality workmanship
  • Follow all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices
  • Provide structured project updates and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have Installer Level 2 BICSI Certification
  • Hands-on experience with low-voltage and telecom hand tools
  • Strong understanding of wiring schemes, testing, and labeling standards
  • Familiarity with fiber types (Single-Mode, Multi-Mode, Ribbon)
  • Ability to install and maintain firestopping systems
  • Knowledge of job-site safety requirements
  • Customer-service oriented with professional communication skills
  • Ability to understand and follow direction from Technicians, Leads, and Senior Technicians
  • Experience working in active data center environments

Qualifications

  • Previous data center experience
  • Experience with FIM systems and scanners
  • ISP/OSP installation experience
  • OSHA 10/30 (, not required)
