The UGT Project Manager supporting Hyperscale Data Center clients serves as the primary liaison between program leadership, hyperscale clients (Meta, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon), and UGT's delivery teams. This role ensures project scope, cost, and timelines are effectively managed while maintaining full alignment with operational, engineering, and logistics objectives. PMs drive coordination across multiple project sites, manage communications, maintain documentation, and facilitate project execution in partnership with the client's program management office and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Oversight & Governance
- Define project scope, schedules, and deliverables in collaboration with program managers and hyperscale client representatives.
- Manage cost control, change requests, and risk mitigation plans to ensure profitability and compliance with client and industry standards.
- Conduct weekly and milestone-based review meetings with engineering, operations, and finance to monitor progress.
- Utilize project management tools and ERP systems to maintain real-time schedule, budget, and progress data.
2. Client & Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the local PMO representative for assigned hyperscale projects.
- Serve as the single focal point for all project communications with clients such as Meta, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with field engineers, site coordinators, contractors, and client project teams.
- Ensure transparent communication through regular updates, escalation reports, and issue-tracking logs.
3. Technical & Operational Coordination
- Oversee installation readiness, logistics scheduling, and acceptance testing for critical power systems and electrical distribution equipment.
- Coordinate field engineering, commissioning, and warranty processes across multi-phase data center construction and expansion projects.
- Verify compliance with safety, environmental, and construction standards, ensuring site teams follow client-specific HSE protocols.
- Review “Approved for Manufacture” drawings, lead issue-resolution meetings, and ensure proper documentation of field changes.
4. Performance & Quality Management
- Maintain quality assurance through proactive review of engineering documents, milestone verification, and adherence to ISO, PMI, and CMMI methodologies.
- Track KPIs including schedule adherence, cost performance index (CPI), and earned value metrics.
- Facilitate cross-site knowledge sharing to standardize best practices across regional hyperscale deployments.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including risk logs, change requests, safety reports, and client correspondence.
- Support reporting cadence by providing accurate status updates for executive dashboards and internal reviews.
- Ensure project details are accurately recorded within project management systems for audit readiness and transparency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of seven years of experience managing large-scale industrial or data center construction or operations projects.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple geographic regions.
- Familiarity with electrical distribution systems, data center construction, and OEM manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Salesforce, and enterprise PM tools; PMP certification .
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of representing UGT with hyperscale clients at both executive and operational levels.
