Job Description
The Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) plays a strategic role for Ocean’s managed services customers. The vCIO focuses on client retention, strategy, IT budgeting, lifecycle planning, cybersecurity adoption, compliance, and increasing revenue through project and recurring revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Lead regularly scheduled cadence calls and Technology Review Meetings to build and maintain IT roadmaps that align technology with the client’s goals.
Revenue & Business Expansion: Identify and execute cross-sell and upsell opportunities. You will create and present proposals for projects and recurring revenue.
Budgeting: Help Develop IT budgets for clients, ensuring they have a clear view of their technology spend.
Lifecycle, Licensing & Asset Management: Own the full technology lifecycle, including hardware refreshes, software licensing, and contract renewals, to ensure client environments remain current and productive.
Cybersecurity & Compliance: Help drive the adoption of cybersecurity tools and ensure client environments meet necessary insurance and regulatory compliance standards.
Relationship Management & Escalation: Serve as the primary point of contact and the non-technical escalation point for account-related concerns, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and partnership.
Minimum Qualifications
· College Degree or equivalent in directly related field
· 5+ years of experience in MSP, IT consulting, or IT management.
· Highly competitive and self-motivated with the ability to deliver results quickly
· Team player
· Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
· Executive‐level communication and presentation skills.
· Experience with budgeting, planning, and compliance frameworks.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
· Build customer loyalty
· Familiarity with ConnectWise .
