Vice President, Preconstruction
Location: Denver, CO

The Vice President of Preconstruction is responsible for strategically driving Prime Data Centers' projects from early-stage development through completion. This role collaborates closely with the Construction, Finance, and Solutions Engineering teams to ensure data center projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer requirements. The VP will oversee a team of Product Development/Preconstruction Managers and Analysts, managing project schedules, budgets, and overall execution while ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and regulatory processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project management procedures based on customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Establish and monitor project schedules to ensure cost-effective, on-time, and high-quality completion.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Product Development/Preconstruction Managers and Analysts, overseeing budgets and project execution.
  • Lead zoning and pre-application processes with relevant city divisions to facilitate project approvals.
  • Oversee the full permitting lifecycle for each data center site, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Finance team to track project costs, ensuring timely payments and budget adherence.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on project progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and present concise project status reports for executive-level review.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Solutions Engineering and Construction teams to ensure critical customization requests from clients are met.
  • Support Procurement by communicating project cost estimates and delivery timelines to optimize sourcing and logistics.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in preconstruction, project management, or real estate development.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the data center industry, with a strong understanding of infrastructure, construction, and permitting processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and driving complex projects to completion.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of zoning regulations, permitting requirements, and site development best practices.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary range ($180K-$220K) with a performance-based bonus program.
