About The Role:
The Warehouse Picking Operator is responsible for fulfilling internal production orders by accurately and efficiently picking items from storage and preparing them for production. The role requires a high level of attention to detail to ensure the correct products and quantities are selected, packed, and labelled according to company standards. The picking operator must also maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and adhere to all safety regulations.
What You'll Be Doing:
Order Fulfilment:
· Receive and interpret pick tickets or digital orders from management.
· Utilize technology, such as RF scanners, to locate products efficiently within the warehouse.
· Select the correct items from storage locations, ensuring accuracy in product type, size, and quantity.
· Meet daily productivity and quality standards.
Packing and Preparation:
· Securely pack picked items into boxes, totes, or onto pallets, as needed.
· Apply correct labels and shipping information to packages and pallets.
· Stage completed orders in the designated area for loading and shipment.
· Identify any missing items and ensure issues are escalated to your Team Leader for rectification.
Warehouse Operations and Safety:
· Operate all material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe working environment.
· Follow all company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
· Assist with other general warehouse duties, including inventory counts, as required.
Inventory Management:
· Update inventory systems as products are picked, ensuring accurate stock records.
· Report inventory discrepancies, damaged items, or equipment malfunctions to management promptly.
· Assist with restocking inventory when necessary.
· Assist in conducting regular stock takes and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Requirements
What You’ll Need:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1-3 years of experience in order picking / kitting within a high-mix, low-volume environment.
· Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
· Demonstrated commitment to ensure our business goals and your functional goals are met / exceeded.
· Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and push carts needed
