Purpose:
As a Water Treatment Engineer at Smart Managed Solutions, you will be responsible for ensuring all environmental conditions and critical building systems are maintained to the highest standard throughout.
To carry out PPM tasks and reactive and breakdown works to all Water Systems within the site. The Water Treatment Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and optimization of water treatment systems within our client contract. This role involves ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, improving system efficiency, and providing exceptional service to our clients.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of water treatment systems, including cooling towers, boilers, and water softeners.
Perform water sampling and chemical analysis to ensure water quality meets regulatory standards.
Identify and address issues related to water treatment equipment and processes.
Analyse and optimize water treatment processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Ensure all water treatment activities comply with health and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and water quality data.
Stay updated on industry standards and regulations related to water treatment.
Attend and complete reactive mechanical and plumbing works within Service Level agreements for attendance, response, and completion.
Maintain mechanical installations, perform repairs, and conduct maintenance on M&E Plant and building fabric.
Complete planned maintenance in line with SFG20 and HTM Guidelines.
Conduct proactive inspections, remedial repairs, and installations.
Support the wider engineering day team during emergency calls.
Provide cost information for chargeable mechanical and plumbing works on site.
Regularly update the Helpdesk Coordinator to ensure the CAFM System is current.
Carry out daily checks of plant rooms and equipment.
Attend scheduled training, including e-learning and role/site-specific courses.
Provide regular hazard reporting for the site on a weekly basis.
Provide exceptional service to clients, addressing their water treatment needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Assist in training clients and staff on water treatment best practices and safety procedures.
Education and Training:
Formally trained in City & Guilds Water Treatment
Legionella Awareness Training
Qualifications related to Steam and Pressure Systems is advantageous
