About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Wireless Network Engineer with expertise in conducting Ekahau Site Surveys to join our team. The engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing wireless surveys to ensure optimal Wi-Fi performance across enterprise and warehouse environments. This role requires a deep understanding of RF design, Wi-Fi standards, and the ability to translate survey results into actionable wireless design and deployment recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Survey Planning
- Review and prepare floor plans (CAD/PDF).
- Define survey requirements: coverage areas, capacity needs, performance metrics, and exclusion zones.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather application and business requirements.
- Onsite Survey Execution
- Perform Passive, Active, and AP-on-a-Stick (APoS) surveys using Ekahau tools.
- Utilize Ekahau Sidekick and Ekahau Survey App to collect RF and performance data.
- Document AP locations, mounting heights, cable paths, and environmental factors impacting RF.
- Identify sources of interference and coverage gaps.
- Post-Survey Analysis & Reporting
- Import and analyze survey data in Ekahau Pro.
- Generate heatmaps for coverage, SNR, data rates, interference, and capacity.
- Provide design recommendations on AP count, placement, antenna , and configuration.
- Deliver professional survey reports and executive summaries to customers and internal teams.
- Collaboration & Support
- Work with project managers, design engineers, and field technicians to ensure successful deployments.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex Wi-Fi issues.
- Support continuous improvement by incorporating customer feedback and lessons learned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in wireless network engineering, preferably in enterprise or warehouse environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Ekahau Pro, Ekahau Sidekick, and Ekahau Survey App.
- Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and RF fundamentals.
- Experience with wireless troubleshooting, spectrum analysis, and interference mitigation.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Aruba, or other enterprise wireless solutions.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Certifications
- ECSE (Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer) – strongly
- CWNA / CWNP track certifications (CWSP, CWDP, CWAP) a plus.
- Cisco CCNA Wireless / CCNP Enterprise (Wireless) or Aruba ACMA/ACMP certifications are advantageous.
Work Environment & Travel
- Role involves onsite survey work, often in large facilities such as warehouses, manufacturing plants, and offices.
- Ability to lift and carry survey equipment (Ekahau Sidekick, laptop, tripod-mounted APs).
- Travel to customer sites required; minimum 50%
