Job Description
Wireless Engineer – Global Trading Firm (Low-Latency, RF & Operations)
\n
\n
A global, market-leading trading firm is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to own the reliability, automation and performance of its latency-critical trading and communications stack – from Linux servers and networks to wireless/RF links and remote sites.
\n
\n
The Role
\n
You’ll be the operational backbone for systems where microseconds matter and mistakes are costly: building robust Python tooling others rely on, hardening Linux environments, and ensuring data moves reliably across networks and wireless links – including towers, data centres and remote sites worldwide.
\n
\n
What You’ll Do
\n
- \n
- Build production-grade Python automation and internal tools (not one-off scripts) used daily by engineers and traders.
- Own Linux infrastructure end-to-end: BIOS/firmware, kernel tuning, CPU isolation, time sync (PTP), and repeatable deployments.
- Design and support networking basics that underpin trading: routing, VLANs, multicast/unicast, and how market data and orders flow.
- Work with RF fundamentals: wireless signals, antennas, interference, and link performance for critical comms paths.
- Manage remote devices and infrastructure with a strong operational mindset: change control, incident response, and vendor/contractor coordination across time zones.
- Travel to towers, data centres and remote sites (domestic and international) and participate in a global on-call rotation, including occasional off-hours work.
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
You Bring
\n
- \n
- Solid Python for automation/tooling: you build CLIs, services, or libraries that teams adopt and maintain.
- Strong Linux systems skills in production environments.
- Networking fundamentals: routing, VLANs, TCP/UDP, multicast, and practical understanding of how data moves.
- RF basics: wireless propagation, antennas, interference, and real-world link troubleshooting.
- Operational discipline: comfort with change control in high-stakes environments; experience coordinating vendors, contractors, or field crews globally.
- Willingness to travel to sites and cover an on-call rotation across time zones.
\n
\n

\n
\n
\n
Nice-to-Have Bonuses
\n
- \n
- Monitoring/observability: Grafana, Splunk, or similar for latency, jitter and tail-latency dashboards.
- Regulatory/licensing exposure: FCC, FAA, permitting or similar compliance contexts.
- Hands-on with RF test equipment or optical transport (dark/lit fibre, DWDM, etc.).
