Are you an experienced electrical engineer ready to lead with purpose in a fast-growing, forward-thinking utilities business?

We're looking for a 33kV Electrical Engineer to take ownership of high-voltage distribution projects across the UK. You'll play a key role in designing and delivering HV networks for renewable energy, utilities, battery storage, and data centre infrastructure - from early-stage design through to commissioning.

\n

This is a high-impact role with real autonomy, technical leadership, and the opportunity to mentor and develop a growing electrical team.

\n\n What You'll Be Doing\n

Design & Technical Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Lead the electrical design of 33kV networks for solar farms, wind farms, BESS, and data centres
  • \n

  • Produce and review single-line diagrams, cable sizing, protection schemes, and earthing designs
  • \n

  • Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, consultants, and contractors to secure approvals
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with G99/G100, ENA standards, BS7671, and IEC regulations
  • \n

  • Support HV equipment specification, procurement, and FAT/SAT processes
  • \n

\n

Project Management Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Oversee project delivery from pre-construction to final commissioning
  • \n

  • Manage schedules, budgets, and risk registers
  • \n

  • Conduct site visits, chair progress meetings, and ensure QA/QC standards
  • \n

  • Maintain HSE compliance and manage stakeholder relationships
  • \n

\n\n What We're Looking For\n

    \n
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in 33kV HV design and/or project engineering
  • \n

  • Proven track record in utility-scale renewables or high-demand infrastructure
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of UK DNO/IDNO grid connection processes
  • \n

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design software
  • \n

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • \n

  • Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK
  • \n

  • Project Management certification (desirable)
  • \n

  • Experience with HV switchgear, protection relays, and SCADA integration (desirable)
  • \n
