JOB SUMMARY:

This is a client-facing design electrical engineering role that manages the specification review and design of products, and interfaces with customers and team members to deliver solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Read, interpret, and understand architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical drawings and specifications.
Initiate new product development, design, prototyping and testing.
Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and potential product opportunities.
Establish deadlines and develop goals to deliver client solutions.
Collaborate with CAD technicians to create detailed designs, specifications, and models for new building products or systems.
Evaluate the feasibility of product ideas, considering factors like cost, potential ROI, and manufacturing processes.
Refine designs based on test results, customer feedback, and analysis of potential design flaws.
Partner with business development managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to translate market needs into clear product specifications and features.
Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding product functionality and performance.
Analyzes data and reviews drawings and plans to ensure quality of work and project feasibility.
Ensure customer schedules are met for product specifications and design.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in an electrical engineering role or similar, preferably in modular construction, steel structures, or industrial fabrication environments.
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.

Related Experience:
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
AC DC Design Systems knowledge
Knowledge of NEC Codes
Low voltage experience
Experience deploying AI tools to improve process efficiency and throughput
Attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; keep up in a fast-paced environment
Supervisory experience a plus
Professionally licensed or willing to pursue license as required to support project requirements
Ability to provide strategic approaches for advancing technology in MXS processes
Understand engineering design principles to guide designers and drafters

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The position is primarily office-based, but may require occasional travel to manufacturing facilities, construction sites, and customer locations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
