We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Piping Apprentice in the Fort Worth, Texas region. The Apprentice, Piping role is designed to provide hands-on training and practical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems within the construction industry. This position serves as an entry point for individuals seeking to develop a comprehensive understanding of piping techniques, safety standards, and industry best practices. The apprentice will work closely with experienced journeymen and supervisors to learn how to read blueprints, use specialized tools, and apply welding and fitting methods. Over time, the apprentice will gain the skills necessary to contribute effectively to complex piping projects, ensuring systems are installed correctly and function safely. Ultimately, this role aims to prepare the apprentice for a successful career as a skilled piping professional within the construction sector.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tradespeople.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience or coursework related to commercial construction, plumbing, or mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools used in piping and construction work.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to measure and calculate dimensions accurately.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, assembly, and maintenance of piping systems under the supervision of experienced tradespeople.
- Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand piping layouts and specifications.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, thread, and join pipes.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment on construction sites.
- Participate in on-the-job training sessions and complete assigned coursework to develop technical knowledge and skills.
- Support the team in troubleshooting and repairing piping systems as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure proper storage of materials and tools.
