Job DescriptionBMS Controls EngineerLocation: Blyth, North East EnglandSector: Data Centres / Mission CriticalProject: £10bn Hyperscale Data Centre CampusOur client is a leading international main contractor delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale and mission-critical data centre developments. They are seeking an experienced BMS Controls Engineer to join the delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England.This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the installation, integration, testing and commissioning of Building Management System (BMS) and controls infrastructure, ensuring critical building systems operate safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications. Working closely with Commissioning Managers, MEP teams, specialist controls contractors, design engineers and client representatives, you will coordinate BMS installation activities, manage technical interfaces and support the successful delivery of complex mission-critical building automation systems through to commissioning and handover.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the installation and delivery of BMS and controls systems across the projectCoordinate specialist BMS subcontractors and controls vendorsReview control philosophies, I/O schedules, network architecture and technical documentationEnsure BMS installations comply with project specifications, design intent and client requirementsCoordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, commissioning and IT/networking teamsSupport software integration, graphics development and controls validationManage technical queries, RFIs and design coordination activitiesOversee inspections, point-to-point testing, functional testing and quality assurance processesSupport integrated systems testing (IST), commissioning and final handoverAttend coordination meetings and provide technical support to project delivery teamsIdentify project risks and implement practical engineering solutionsEnsure all activities are delivered safely and in accordance with project quality standardsRequirementsProven experience as a BMS Controls Engineer on major construction projectsPrevious experience delivering hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceutical, industrial or complex commercial developmentsStrong knowledge of Building Management Systems, PLCs, SCADA and controls integrationExperience with major BMS platforms such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Trend, Johnson Controls or Delta ControlsGood understanding of HVAC controls, electrical systems and mechanical plant operationExperience supporting testing, commissioning and integrated systems validationAbility to interpret engineering drawings, control schematics and technical documentationStrong communication, organisational and problem-solving skillsDegree, HNC/HND or recognised qualification in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related disciplinePackageHighly competitive salary + comprehensive packageRotation / Accommodation / Living allowance / Travel allowanceBonus / Car allowance / Private healthcare / Enhanced pension / Life assuranceLong-term opportunity on one of Europe's largest hyperscale data centre developmentsThis is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant digital infrastructure programmes and contribute to the successful delivery of a landmark £10bn, 10-year hyperscale data centre campus .
