BMS Support Engineer - Data Centres

We’re looking for a BMS Support Engineer to join a busy team working across critical sites in the data centre sector. If you’ve got hands-on experience with Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) and enjoy solving problems in technical environments, this role could be a great fit.\n\nYou’ll be part of a service team that keeps complex control systems running smoothly in buildings that can’t afford downtime. Whether it’s planned maintenance, fixing faults, or helping improve how the system runs, your work will make a real difference to day-to-day performance and long-term efficiency.\n\nThis is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on site, working independently, and staying hands-on with the latest BMS technology.

If you’re confident dealing with BEMS, have good attention to detail, and like working in environments where standards are high, this could be a strong next move in your career.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on BEMS in line with contractual service level agreements.\n\n * Complete diagnostic checks, inspections, and functional testing of BMS components to ensure optimal performance.\n\n * Produce accurate and timely service reports, feeding into both client KPIs and internal tracking systems.\n\n * Maintain up-to-date schedules and trackers of maintenance works for customer visibility and audit purposes.\n\n * Respond to emergency service calls, conducting thorough fault diagnosis and implementing corrective actions.\n\n * Undertake small-scale remedial works and minor upgrades to enhance system efficiency and reliability.\n\n * Perform routine inspections of environmental controls to ensure system health and data centre stability.\n\n * Liaise with client representatives and stakeholders to explain technical issues in clear, accessible terms.\n\n * Update software settings, control strategies, and other configuration tasks to maintain effective system operation.\n\n * Participate in a call-out rota to provide out-of-hours emergency cover when required.\n\nQualifications\n\n * Hands-on experience with Trend and IQ Vision BEMS platforms.\n\n * Exposure to additional systems such as Tridium, Schneider EcoStruxure, or ALC is advantageous (training may be provided).\n\n * Background in the building controls industry with working knowledge of HVAC and mechanical plant equipment (e.g. AHUs, chillers, CRAC units).\n\n * Proven diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to systematically identify and resolve technical faults.\n\n * Strong communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\n * Competent with IT systems and digital reporting; PC literate.\n\n * Willingness to work independently or collaboratively within a service-focused team.\n\n * Flexibility to travel regularly across the Slough/West Drayton/Hayes region.\n\n * Full UK driving licence.\n\n * Valid CSCS skill card or equivalent certification (for site access).\n\nWhat’s in it for you\n\n * A competitive salary package, with strong earning potential through a generous bonus scheme\n\n * Additional standby allowance and regular opportunities for overtime\n\n * Access to a flexible company car scheme, including the option for fully electric vehicles — or take a monthly car allowance if you prefer to use your own vehicle\n\n * After 12 months, you'll have the opportunity to become part of an employee-owned business\n\n * A contributory pension scheme with 6% employer contributions to help support your future\n\n * Free private medical insurance to give you and your family added peace of mind\n\n * Life assurance valued at four times your annual salary\n\n * 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays, with the chance to buy up to 3 extra days each year\n\n * Access to Cyclescheme (up to £2,500) to help you stay active and commute sustainably\n\nAPPLY TODAY\n\nAPPLICANTS MUST HAVE A RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE WORKING IN THE UK CONSTRUCTION MARKET\n\nBefore commencing employment you will be required to fully complete a pre-employment screening process consisting of a basic criminal record and credit check.\n\nPlease note that unfortunately, any applicants without the relevant work experience, or the Right To Work in the UK will be unsuccessful.\n\nCrucial People operates as both an Employment Agency and an Employment Business
