The RoleInfinium Operations Texas, LLC is seeking an experienced Board Operator Technician to support operations at our advanced eFuels production facility in Pecos, Texas. This is a critical control-room role responsible for safely and efficiently operating plant systems through a DCS/PLC interface, working closely with field operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
New hires will complete a period of hands-on training in Corpus Christi, Texas, before transitioning to the permanent role in Pecos.
What You’ll DoAs a Board Operator Technician, you will be at the center of plant operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant production. Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with Infinium’s Roadrunner Execution Management Team to ensure a smooth turnover from construction activities to operations activities
- Collaborate and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the plant
- Work closely with Infinium’s Training Officer to develop training materials and help train future Field Operators
- Operate and monitor DCS/PLC control systems to manage production, utilities, compression, and separation processes
- Adjust process variables (pressure, flow, temperature, levels) to meet production and quality targets
- Respond to alarms, abnormal conditions, and process upsets using established operating procedures
- Maintain accurate shift logs and ensure effective shift handovers
- Coordinate continuously with field technicians, maintenance, and supervision
- Ensure compliance with all EHS, environmental, permitting, and LOTO requirements
- Support incident reporting, root cause investigations, and emergency response drills
- Identify equipment or process issues and coordinate corrective actions
- Participate in preventive maintenance planning and execution
- Read and interpret P&IDs, flow sheets, and control logic
- Support process optimization, continuous improvement, and system upgrades
- Achieve and maintain required unit, permit writer, and safety certifications
- Provide guidance to field technicians and support daily unit objectives
What We’re Looking For
- Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent training in Process Technology, Instrumentation, or Electrical disciplines
- 5–8 years of operating experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, or similar industrial environments desirable
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating DCS or PLC systems (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa, Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Strong understanding of industrial process systems and alarm management
- Ability to troubleshoot control loops and process deviations
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills
- Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts
- Maintenance experience is a plus
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to industrial environments and hazardous materials
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and balancing as required
