Job Title: CDL-A Field Service Technician

Compensation: $27 - $31/hr

Job Summary
The Field Service Driver Technician is responsible for safely operating Phiston’s mobile data destruction trucks and delivering secure on-site shredding services for enterprise clients. This role combines CDL driving, industrial equipment operation, mechanical troubleshooting, and client-facing service responsibilities.
The technician will represent Phiston on-site, ensuring every data destruction event is executed securely, efficiently, and in compliance with NAID AAA and regulatory standards while maintaining equipment readiness and operational safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
On the Road
• Safely operate 24- or 26-foot trucks to client locations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT standards
• Maintain accurate driver logs and vehicle maintenance records
On-Site Operations
• Operate and maintain industrial shredding equipment according to client specifications and NAID AAA security standards
• Monitor shred events to ensure output quality and compliance
• Troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs to minimize operational downtime
• Deliver Certificates of Destruction (CoD) and required documentation to clients
• Serve as the professional on-site point of contact, answering questions and representing Phiston’s brand
Logistics and Operational Support
• Track and replenish consumables such as debris bins and spare parts
• Assist with loading, unloading, and preparation of equipment for upcoming service events
• Support warehouse organization and inventory checks when not in the field
• Perform basic generator operation and maintenance as required
Compliance and Reporting
• Follow all safety, data destruction, and compliance protocols, including NAID AAA standards
• Submit daily service reports, including equipment performance and client feedback
• Maintain accurate documentation for operational and compliance audits
Required Qualifications
• Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
• Experience operating and maintaining industrial or electromechanical equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Familiarity with inventory management and logistics processes
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Clean background check required
• Ability to travel 30–50% as required
Qualifications
• Experience in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) or secure data destruction services
• Certification or formal training in equipment operation or maintenance
• Familiarity with NAID AAA, ISO, or other regulatory compliance standards
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
• Combination of driving, warehouse, and on-site client service environments
• Work performed both indoors and outdoors at enterprise client facilities
• Exposure to heavy equipment and industrial machinery
• Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment and materials as required
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work around mechanical equipment
