Role Purpose

You will build and lead the commercial engine that converts Mangrove’s target market—logistics operators in the Golden Triangle, industrial facilities, data centres, and NHS trusts—into signed PPAs. This is not a sales management role; you will personally originate, structure, and close deals while simultaneously building the commercial frameworks to scale from 4.5MW deployed to 250MW+ under management within three years.

You own revenue targets, margin discipline, and deal quality. Every PPA must balance customer value (33–50% savings vs. grid), bankability for capital partners (8–12% unlevered returns), and Mangrove’s platform economics (developer fees, management fees, SaaS, carbon). You report directly to the CEO.

Key AccountabilitiesRevenue & Pipeline

•       Own a pipeline of 50–100MW of active opportunities. Deliver signed PPAs representing £2–5M annual contract value in Year 1, scaling to £10M+ by Year 3.

•       Execute systematic origination across 1,000+ qualified targets. Build relationships with decision-makers at logistics operators (Prologis, GLP, Segro portfolio tenants), industrial groups, data centre operators, and NHS estates teams.

Deal Structuring & Pricing

•       Lead structuring of Take-or-Pay PPAs with tolerance bands, triple performance guarantees, and integrated service agreements (BESS, EV, MRV, SaaS).

•       Own and evolve the financial model suite. Set pricing discipline that delivers customer savings while protecting 10–16% investor IRRs and Mangrove’s developer margins (£200k per MWp target).

•       Maintain strict discipline on deal quality—no unfinanceable or margin-destroying agreements.

Capital Partner Interface

•       Present bankable deal packages to Ampyr and future infrastructure fund partners.

•       Support due diligence and financial close processes.

Cross-Functional Leadership

•       Work closely with Engineering & Design and Operations to ensure what is sold is technically deliverable.

•       Recruit and develop 2–4 commercial team members as pipeline demands scale. Establish CRM discipline, forecasting rigour, and conversion metrics.

•       Provide clear reporting, insight and recommendations to senior leadership.

Success Metrics (Year 1)

•       10+ MWp of signed PPAs

•       50+ MWp qualified pipeline under active negotiation

•       Deal average investor IRR >10%

•       90-day average from LOI to signed PPA

•       £2–5M annual contract value originated

Requirements

•       10+ years in energy, infrastructure, or project finance with direct PPA/offtake structuring experience

•       Track record of personally closing complex, long-term commercial agreements (£10M+ TCV)

•       Deep understanding of project finance economics, bankability requirements, and investor return mechanics

•       Existing network in UK logistics, industrial, or commercial real estate sectors (strongly )

•       Strong understanding of long-term contracts, pricing and risk-return trade-offs

•       Builder mentality: comfortable creating processes, not just operating them

•       Commercially sharp, financially literate and outcome-focused
