Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Facilitator to support a hyperscale data center project in Minnesota. This role is highly field-driven and embedded alongside the General Contractor team to drive day-to-day safety performance, compliance, and risk mitigation on site.

This individual will work in close partnership with GC leadership, trade partners, and project management to ensure that safety expectations are clearly communicated, consistently enforced, and continuously improved throughout the project lifecycle.

This is not a remote oversight role, it requires strong field presence, proactive engagement, and the ability to influence teams at every level of construction execution.

Regional travel will be required. Candidates must be open to working on-site full time for the duration of the project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with GC safety leadership to ensure execution of site-specific EHS programs and compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations
  • Conduct daily field walks and safety audits alongside GC superintendents and trade partners
  • Identify high-risk activities and ensure proper pre-task planning, permitting, and hazard mitigation are in place
  • Support and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Monitor leading and lagging indicators, safety trends, and performance metrics to proactively address potential risks
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly across all site stakeholders, including subcontractors and field crews
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings, schedule reviews, and construction planning discussions where safety impact is present
  • Ensure GC and subcontractor compliance with contractual safety requirements and site standards
  • Act as a coach and resource to field teams reinforcing best practices and elevating overall safety culture
  • Provide regular reporting and summary updates to project leadership on safety performance and risk exposure
  • Support life cycle safety engagement from planning and permitting through commissioning and turnover

Requirements:

  • 8–10+ years of construction safety experience, preferably supporting large-scale commercial or mission-critical projects
  • Strong General Contractor (GC) experience required
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with superintendents, trade partners, and field leadership
  • OSHA 500 or 510 certification
  • Experience with mission-critical / data center projects strongly
  • Proven experience interacting with OSHA and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Willingness to travel and be 100% dedicated on-site for the duration of the project
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-visibility construction environments
