Position Summary:

\n

\n

Our client, a respected builder in the mission critical sector, is seeking a Traveling Civil Superintendent to own the overall civil program on ground-up data center programs across the Texas and Louisiana markets. This role carries responsibility for planning, subcontractor management, cost control, and engineering coordination across all civil and sitework scopes, from mass grading and deep foundations through underground utilities and site infrastructure.

The ideal candidate pairs strong technical civil knowledge with the commercial skills to manage budgets, buyout, and change orders on a large, fast-moving program. This individual will lead civil superintendents and field engineers, serve as the primary interface with civil designers and geotechnical consultants, and keep the civil scope aligned with the master schedule.

Responsibilities:

\n

  • Manage the full civil scope of a ground-up data center program, including earthwork, foundations, underground utilities, concrete, paving, and site infrastructure.
  • \n

  • Lead and develop civil superintendents, field engineers, and support staff across concurrent work fronts.
  • \n

  • Own civil budgets, forecasts, and cost control, including subcontractor buyout support, scope reviews, and change order management.
  • \n

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination with civil design engineers, geotechnical consultants, and permitting authorities.
  • \n

  • Develop and maintain the civil portion of the master schedule, sequencing work to protect downstream structural and MEP milestones.
  • \n

  • Review submittals, RFIs, and design changes for civil scopes and drive timely resolution of technical issues.
  • \n

  • Oversee QA/QC programs for earthwork, concrete, and utilities, ensuring documentation, testing, and closeout requirements are met.
  • \n

  • Champion site safety standards across all civil operations and subcontractors.
  • \n

  • Report progress, risks, and recovery plans to project leadership and the owner in a client-facing capacity.
  • \n

Qualifications:

\n

\n

    \n
  • Proven experience managing civil scopes on large commercial, industrial, or mission critical construction programs.
  • \n

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is ; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • \n

  • Strong command of earthwork, deep foundations, underground utilities, concrete, and site development.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated experience with budgets, buyout, change management, and subcontractor administration.
  • \n

  • Ability to lead superintendents and field teams while coordinating effectively with designers and owners.
  • \n

  • Working knowledge of P6 or MS Project scheduling and construction management platforms such as Procore.
  • \n

  • Data center, mission critical, or heavy industrial experience is strongly .
  • \n

  • Ability to be based in the Texas or Louisiana region, with willingness to travel or deploy to project sites across both markets.
