Construction Project Engineer — Tilt-Up Data Center
Location: Houston, Texas (Project Site)
Compensation: Salary Comp To Experience + potential completion bonus
Assignment Length: 9–12 months (opportunity for follow-on projects)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Engineer to oversee subcontractors building a tilt-up wall data center in the Houston area. This role is responsible for driving site safety, project schedule, quality control, and change-order management throughout the construction lifecycle.
This is a hands-on field-focused position ideal for someone who has managed complex construction projects and can coordinate effectively across civil, mechanical, electrical, and specialty contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate daily work of civil, mechanical, electrical, and specialty subcontractors
- Monitor and enforce site safety as a core project value
- Maintain and drive project schedule, identifying risks early and resolving conflicts
- Oversee installation quality and perform field verification with trade partners
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Participate in OAC meetings, progress walks, and punch-list resolution
- Coordinate with design professionals, AHJs, inspectors, and project stakeholders
- Maintain accurate documentation and daily construction reporting
- Support testing, commissioning, and turnover activities
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of construction experience, including field supervision
- Strong, hands-on experience managing civil, MEP, and structural scopes
- Experience with tilt-up construction, data centers, or industrial facilities strongly
- Background as a general contractor or subcontractor is a major plus
- Proven ability to manage safety, quality, and schedule simultaneously
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work onsite daily in the Houston metro area

Qualifications
- Prior experience in data centers is greatly appreciated but not required, strong comparable experience such as plant work would be viewed comparably.
- Strong proficiency in Project Coordination and Construction Engineering
- Experience in Quality Control and handling Submittals
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with teams and stakeholders
- Ability to work onsite full-time and manage multiple construction activities efficiently
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or 10+ years of experience.
- Knowledge of tilt-up construction methods and best practices is highly
- Project management certifications such as PMP are a plus
