Date Center Cable Technician - Entry Level:

 

Data Center Cable Technician – $20–$24/hr. DOE

We are currently hiring Entry-Level Data Center Cable Technicians with little to no experience performing low-voltage installation in a data center environment. Candidates MUST have prior experience with manual labor or physically demanding work (such as construction, warehouse, landscaping, or other general labor). This role involves consistent physical activity, working on your feet, and handling tools and materials in a fast-paced environment.

Data Center Technician Duties:

  • Pulling and routing CAT5, CAT6, or Fiber cable in new construction and existing data center environments
  • Dressing, labeling, and terminating low-voltage wires
  • Installing support structures (ladder racks, racks, switches, servers, j-hooks, cable trays, basket trays, etc.)
  • Terminating voice and data jacks and dressing/terminating distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels)
  • Rack and stack work, closet work, assembling server racks and patch panels

 

Qualifications (Not Necessary, but Strongly ):

  • Recent experience installing low-voltage cable in new construction or data center environments
  • Experience with manual labor or physically demanding work (construction, warehouse, landscaping, general labor, etc.) is required/ for this role
  • Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC standards
  • Experience running or bending conduit, using digital multimeters, and testing cable is a plus
  • Fiber experience including Anaerobic Terminations, SC and LC Connectors, and Splicing is a plus
  • Ability to read and understand schematic and line diagrams
  • Your own basic telecom tools including punch downs, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, PPE (safety gear), etc.

 

Compensation:

  • Competitive starting pay $20–$24/hr. depending on experience
