Title: Field Services | US | Data Center Optical Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Optical Engineer with experience in racking, cabling, stacking, decommissioning, break-fix, remote hands, hardware replacement, and optical/network troubleshooting. You will ensure smooth data center operations and deliver top-notch technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform break-fix and remote hands tasks, including nights/weekends.
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot Ethernet and fiber cabling (CAT5/6, single/multi-mode, RJ45, LC).
  • Use optical test tools (OTDR, power meter, VFL, BERT, RFC2544, EtherSAM, iPerf) for network testing.
  • Conduct site audits, document results, and maintain accurate records.
  • Racking, stacking, decommissioning, and hardware replacement.
  • Maintain AC/DC power systems and manage hot/cold aisles.
  • Oversee 3rd-party activities on-site.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years in data center operations or similar; team lead experience .
  • Self-starter, team player, excellent communication, organized, able to multitask.
  • Knowledge of telephony, optical, and IP networks.
  • US .

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift/move up to 50 lbs, work at heights, in confined spaces, and varying conditions.
