Title: Field Services | US | Data Center Optical Engineer – Job Stage 4

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Data Center Optical Engineer with hands-on experience in racking, cabling, stacking, decommissioning, break-fix, remote hands, hardware replacement, and network/optical troubleshooting. You will help ensure smooth data center operations and deliver excellent technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform break-fix and remote hands tasks, including nights and weekends.
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot Ethernet and fiber cabling (CAT5/6, single/multi-mode, RJ45, LC).
  • Conduct optical testing using OTDR, power meters, VFL, BERT, RFC2544, EtherSAM, and iPerf.
  • Audit sites, validate equipment placement, and document results.
  • Racking, stacking, decommissioning, and hardware replacement.
  • Maintain AC/DC power systems and manage hot/cold aisles.
  • Oversee 3rd-party on-site activities.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years in data center operations or similar; team lead experience .
  • Self-starter, team player, organized, excellent communication, and able to multitask.
  • Knowledge of telephony, optical, and IP networks.
  • US .

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift/move up to 50 lbs, work at heights, in confined spaces, and varying conditions.
