Data Center Electrical Technician (LV)

Join a leading provider of mission-critical data center facilities management services.

Our client delivers 24/7 operations and maintenance services across high-availability data center environments, supporting hyperscale and enterprise customers.

With a strong focus on uptime, safety, and operational excellence, the organisation manages complex electrical infrastructure that underpins business-critical digital services.

As part of ongoing operational growth, they are seeking an experienced Data Centre Electrical Technician (Low Voltage) to support the safe operation, maintenance, and reliability of LV electrical systems within a live data center environment.

About the Role

The Data Centre Electrical Technician (LV) will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage electrical infrastructure supporting IT and critical facility loads. Working under the supervision of the Data Centre Electrical Engineer, you will ensure continuous power availability, compliance with safety standards, and accurate documentation of all electrical activities.

This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to technicians experienced in facilities management, critical environments, and operational electrical systems rather than design-focused positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor LV electrical systems including PDUs, UPS outputs, switchboards, and rack-level power distribution.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure systems operate within defined parameters and standards.
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on LV panels, breakers, cabling, and distribution equipment.
  • Respond promptly to electrical alarms and faults, escalating complex issues to the Electrical Engineer as required.
  • Support installation and modification of LV circuits for IT racks and white-space equipment.
  • Perform cable routing, terminations, labelling, and housekeeping in accordance with site standards.
  • Strictly follow electrical safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit-to-Work systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and work completion reports.
  • Report system status, incidents, and operational issues clearly and accurately.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2–3+ years’ experience working with low-voltage electrical systems in data centres, critical facilities, or industrial environments.
  • Practical knowledge of UPS systems, PDUs, LV panels, breakers, and structured cabling.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards, fault finding, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience working within Facilities Management or O&M service delivery models preferred.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong hands-on electrical and troubleshooting skills.
  • High safety awareness and disciplined approach to procedures.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure in mission-critical environments.
  • Good documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to operational excellence.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a professional FM organisation operating at the heart of mission-critical infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in maintaining electrical reliability within a live data centre, support high-availability operations, and contribute directly to the uptime that underpins the digital economy.
