Job Title: Field Data Centre Engineer (Contract)\nRate: £200 per day\nLocation: London (multiple locations)\nContract Type: Contract\n\nRole Overview\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Field Data Centre Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will provide on-site support across London data centre locations, delivering either smart hands assistance or break/fix services, as well as cabling installations. This is a client-facing role that requires proven data centre experience, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently across multiple sites.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Perform smart hands support (power cycling, visual inspections, hardware replacements, patching) or\n\n * \n\n Carry out break/fix services for data centre hardware, servers, and networking equipment.\n\n * \n\n Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling and copper cabling within data centre environments.\n\n * \n\n Rack, stack, and cable servers, switches, and other infrastructure equipment.\n\n * \n\n Conduct regular site visits to perform preventative maintenance and ensure equipment integrity.\n\n * \n\n Document all work performed, including cabling layouts, patching records, and incident reports.\n\n * \n\n Work in coordination with remote technical teams to complete tasks and resolve issues.\n\n * \n\n Follow health & safety standards, data centre protocols, and client security procedures.\n\nRequirements\n\n * \n\n Previous data centre experience (essential).\n\n * \n\n Proven track record as a Data Centre Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role.\n\n * \n\n Strong knowledge of fiber optic (single-mode and multi-mode) and copper cabling standards.\n\n * \n\n Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.\n\n * \n\n Ability to follow technical instructions from remote teams.\n\n * \n\n Excellent communication skills and professional client-facing manner.\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential).\n\n * \n\n ECS Card .\n\n * \n\n Must currently reside in the UK and have valid Right to Work (RTW).\n\n * \n\n Willingness to travel between multiple London sites.\n\nContract Details\n\n * \n\n Day Rate: £200\n\n * \n\n Location: Multiple London data centre sites\n\n * \n\n Contract Length: 3–12 months\n\n * \n\n Start Date: Open start date
