Director, Project Finance

Amazon is seeking an exceptional senior Project Finance leader to architect and execute sophisticated capital formation strategies that support the company's diverse global business portfolio. This executive will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, designing and implementing innovative financing structures—including equity partnerships, joint ventures, alternative partnerships, and other creative capital vehicles—to develop capital efficient structures to enable growth and reduce risk.

The ideal candidate will bring deep, demonstrable expertise across both public and private capital markets, corporate finance, and structured finance with domain knowledge of data centers, energy, and infrastructure. This leader will be responsible for identifying emerging financing opportunities, conducting complex financial modeling and scenario analysis, and negotiating sophisticated deal structures with institutional investors, strategic partners and internal stakeholders across Amazon's business units. This leader will have the opportunity to help accelerate Amazon's growth and to create and unlock significant shareholder value.

Key job responsibilities
• Design and negotiate large-scale financing structures serving as deal leader from origination through closing
• Manage investor diligence, negotiations, and transaction execution
• Build relationships with infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, private equity funds, insurance companies, and other investors
• Assess capital market conditions; advise senior leadership on financing alternatives, pricing, and innovative transactions or market trends
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost of capital while balancing risk through financial structure
• Partner with Real Estate, Economic Development, Tax, Accounting, Treasury and Legal teams deriving transactional efficiency and speed
• Manage financial risk allocation across assets and business segments maintaining high standards of financial stewardship and governance
• Make high-level strategic decisions with urgency and backbone, managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholder groups
