Summary

The Director of Quality is responsible for implementing and maintaining a robust quality management system that supports our mission to deliver safe and reliable nonstop power products that support mission-critical systems (power , data centers, healthcare, financial system, water treatment, etc.) throughout the economy. This role is vital in assuring that our products and services meet and exceed industry standards and customer expectations. This role is also essential to maintaining and improving the company’s internal supplier-customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive QMS in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Continuously improve the existing ISO 9001:2015-based QMS to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor quality control processes throughout the organization. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards, requirements, and procedures. Implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the quality and reliability of materials and components. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to establish quality standards for suppliers and COC (Certification of Conformance) to standards.
  • Customer Quality Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with customers to ensure quality and reliability of materials and components. Respond to customer issues and questions in a timely and effective manner. Develop, implement, and continuously improve a customer outreach quality monitoring system.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and support to employees on quality and process improvement matters. Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Aid in identifying and troubleshooting intra-company process breakdowns and opportunities to streamline.
  • Quality Metrics and Reporting: Define and monitor key quality performance indicators. Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of quality initiatives and compliance.
  • Risk Management: Manage plant and personnel safety risks through risk assessments, operating procedures, and employee training.
  • Equipment Calibration: Coordinate and maintain records of equipment maintenance and calibration and ensure compliance to stated schedules and procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with industry regulations and ensure the organization's adherence to relevant quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Quality Management).
  • Quality management experience within the energy sector.
  • 5+ years of experience in a design and manufacturing organization.
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/QE).
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of quality standards and regulations in the energy/power systems industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in the following quality system tools:
    • ISO 9001-2015
    • Root Cause Analysis tools (fishbone diagrams, 5 ways, Fault Tree Analysis, etc.)
    • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Total Quality Management (TQM)
    • Pareto Analysis
    • Supplier Quality Management
    • CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action Systems)
    • Risk Management Tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional process- skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate accurately, effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience with Six Sigma.
  • Experience with Quality Function Deployment (QFD).
  • Experience with QMS Software.

Location: This position is located on-site in Longmont, CO.

Base Compensation: $144,000 - $170,000 is the projected compensation range for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
