The Company
Neos Engineering are partnered with a leading engineering organisation delivering critical power solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in generator and control systems.
The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, and support of power and control systems. You will play a key role in delivering projects across a range of environments, ensuring systems are fully operational, compliant, and integrated.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out generator commissioning, including testing, fault finding, and performance verification
Commission and support mains synchronisation systems, ensuring seamless integration
Work with AMF, synchronising, and load sharing control systems
Configure and test Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) and ComAp control panels
Commission Automatic Bus Controllers (ABCs) and associated systems
Interpret electrical schematics and support control panel design and build
Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and rectification of faults
Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards
Provide technical support to clients and internal teams
Produce commissioning reports and documentation
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in generator commissioning
Strong knowledge of mains synchronisation and load sharing systems
Hands-on experience with:
Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) controllers
ComAp controllers
Experience with Automatic Bus Controllers (ABCs)
Strong electrical fault finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently on-site
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Qualifications
Relevant electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ or equivalent)
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience
Experience within critical power environments (data centres, hospitals, utilities)
Exposure to water industry / water board projects
Knowledge of PLC systems and integration
Previous client-facing commissioning experience
