Position: Electrical Shift Engineer Location: 30 Gracechurch Street, London, EC3V 0UF Salary: £50,500 per annum Shift Pattern: Continental Shift (Days and Nights)\n\nOverview:\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer to join their on-site team at 30 Gracechurch Street, London. This is a permanent role working on a continental shift pattern, responsible for maintaining and operating all electrical and mechanical systems within a critical commercial environment.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in building services engineering, with a focus on electrical systems, and the ability to work independently as part of a dedicated on-site team.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCarry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on all electrical and mechanical building services equipment.\n\nEnsure all critical systems (including LV distribution, UPS, generators, lighting, and emergency systems) are fully operational and maintained to the highest standard.\n\nRespond to reactive and emergency breakdowns, diagnosing faults efficiently and carrying out repairs to minimise downtime.\n\nMonitor and operate the Building Management System (BMS) to maintain environmental conditions and optimise system performance.\n\nPerform regular inspections of plant areas and record findings in line with company and client standards.\n\nAssist in the supervision and coordination of subcontractors, ensuring all works are completed safely and to specification.\n\nOperate and manage Permit to Work systems in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety, and client procedures.\n\nMaintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities using the site's Computer-Based Maintenance System (CBMS).\n\nEnsure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and site procedures.\n\nParticipate in site meetings and provide technical support to both BGIS management and the client.\n\nSupport energy efficiency initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of site operations.\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\nRecognised Electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or similar).\n\nProven experience working within a commercial or critical environment (e.g.

data centre, financial institution, or multi-storey office building).\n\nBasic mechanical knowledge (AHUs, FCUs, pumps, etc.) advantageous.\n\nExcellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to work effectively on a continental shift pattern, including nights and weekends
