Electrical Shift Engineer – Slough – 58k + Package\n\nWe’re seeking a skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to join a critical engineering team at a state-of-the-art critical facility in Slough. This role is ideal for an electrically qualified engineer with experience in critical or high-resilience environments who wants to gain or build upon experience in the critical sector.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of electrical and building services equipment within a mission-critical environment.\n\n * Operate and maintain key data centre infrastructure, including:\n\n * HV/LV distribution systems\n\n * UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems and battery banks\n\n * Standby generators and automatic transfer switches (ATS)\n\n * Power monitoring and BMS systems\n\n * CRAC / CRAH cooling systems, chilled water plant, and HVAC controls\n\n * Support routine testing of emergency systems and ensure compliance with operational procedures and site safety standards.\n\n * Monitor and respond to alarms through the Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).\n\n * Ensure all maintenance documentation, logs, and shift reports are accurately maintained.\n\n * Assist with switching schedules, isolations, and safe systems of work within HV/LV environments.\n\nApplicant Requirements:\n\n * Electrically qualified (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent).\n\n * Proven experience working in critical environments such as data centres, hospitals, financial institutions, or similar.\n\n * Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault diagnosis, and emergency power systems.\n\n * Familiarity with HV switching, UPS operation, or generator testing is highly desirable.\n\n * Data centre experience beneficial but not essential — full site-specific training provided.\n\n * Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.\n\nWhy Join?\n\n * Work in a technically advanced and highly resilient facility.\n\n * Gain hands-on exposure to mission-critical engineering systems.\n\n * Join a supportive shift team committed to professional standards and continuous improvement.\n\n * On-site parking, professional development, and training in critical systems
