Electrical Technical Director – Data Centre Engineering
Location: London (with flexibility for occasional international travel)
Salary: £90,000–£110,000 base + comprehensive benefits package
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Director to lead and shape the technical vision for large-scale data centre projects. This is a senior leadership position focused on delivering innovative, sustainable, and resilient mission-critical infrastructure. The candidate must have a electrical design background specifically within data centres or mission critical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and oversee technical strategy for data centre design and engineering
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality MEP systems across power, cooling, fire safety, and controls
- Drive innovation in energy efficiency, sustainability, and reliability (Tier III/IV standards)
- Ensure compliance with international standards (TIA-942, LEED/BREEAM) and certification protocols
- Provide technical authority during design, commissioning, and client engagements
- Mentor engineering teams and support business development initiatives
Experience & Skills Required
- Extensive experience in data centre engineering, including greenfield and hyperscale projects
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, cooling technologies (evaporative, immersion), and modular solutions
- Familiarity with Tier certification, sustainability frameworks, and regulatory compliance
- Proven leadership and client-facing skills
- Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
