Job Description:
Join a leading industrial facilities team as an Electrician I in Akron, Ohio! If you are an experienced electrician with a strong background in electrical distribution systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance, this is your opportunity to advance your career with a dynamic organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical distribution systems, lighting, and related devices in an industrial environment.
- Connect power supply wiring and conduit for machinery and building equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctions in transformers, motors, MCC panels, variable frequency drives, and lighting fixtures; replace damaged components.
- Maintain electrical systems within data centers, ensuring reliable power for sensitive equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical utilities and equipment, adhering to safety standards and electrical codes.
- Plan and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus, following blueprints and specifications.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies; organize and manage shop areas efficiently.
- Keep accurate documentation related to work performed, inspections, and maintenance records.
- Stay current with industry best practices by participating in training and seminars.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an Apprenticeship program with 10+ years of related experience, or equivalent education and training.
- Valid Journeyman license.
- Proficient with testing tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, and megohm meters; able to interpret data accurately.
- Skilled in working with electrical systems including 480/277 VAC, 120/208 VAC, and 120/240 VAC environments.
- Experience maintaining data center electrical systems and emergency lighting.
- Knowledge of motor controls, logic control systems, low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice/data wiring.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, electrical codes, and safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
- Valid driver’s license required; certification to operate forklifts and aerial lifts .
- Excellent communication skills, capable of preparing reports and presenting technical information.
