£65,000-£70,000 +

Facilities Engineering Contractor is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and real estate management services. We are seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead our engineering team at a data centre in Slough.

This role is responsible for supervising planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with site policies, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The Shift Manager will also act as the site Authorised Person, managing all safety documentation and operational controls, while coordinating daily shift operations and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all shift maintenance activities (planned/reactive) to meet SLAs
  • Monitor Building Management Systems and respond to alarms/emergencies
  • Implement and manage the Permit to Work system, ensuring vendor compliance
  • Ensure SOPs/EOPs and switching schedules are aligned with safety procedures and company policy
  • Maintain compliance of cooling and domestic water systems (L8)
  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability for maintenance tasks
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure adherence to site protocols
  • Promote a professional and safety-first environment
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the shift team
  • Review and approve RAMS, and prepare comprehensive job packs
  • Monitor team performance, conduct reviews, and support training and development
  • Manage shift ROTA, including leave, sickness, and return-to-work processes
  • Maintain site documentation, statutory log books, and vendor report records
  • Lead on-site incident management and emergency response drills

Qualifications & Skills

  • HV Authorisation (required)
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Current Wiring Regulations certification
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Manual Handling, PASMA & IPAF ()
  • Proven experience in a critical environment and real-time fault management
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety compliance in maintenance environments
  • Experience working with complex systems (e.g., Fire, PMS, BMS)
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • High level of integrity and accountability
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically fit and able to work at height
  • Flexible with shift hours and operational demands
