Job Description

I am recruiting on behalf of a leading international contractor delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in Düsseldorf. We are looking for an experienced EHS (Health, Safety & Environment) Manager to join the team immediately, overseeing the groundworks and enabling package of this flagship build.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead site-wide Environmental, Health & Safety management during groundworks/enabling phase
• Ensure full compliance with German and EU HSE legislation
• Develop and implement Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and toolbox talks
• Carry out site inspections, audits, and weekly reporting
• Promote a strong safety culture and coach site teams in best-practice standards
• Liaise with project leadership, subcontractors, and client representatives on all HSE matters

Requirements

• 8–10+ years’ HSE experience within large construction projects (data centre, industrial, pharma, or civils)
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent recognised HSE qualification (German equivalent desirable)
• Strong knowledge of German construction safety regulations
• Experience managing HSE on Tier 1 contractor projects highly advantageous
• English essential; German skills an advantage
• Ability to mobilise immediately and work site-based in Düsseldorf
