EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System) Manager
The EPMS Manager leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, configuration, deployment, and integration of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems for data center and industrial/manufacturing facilities. This role oversees the setup of power meters, protective devices (breakers, relays), communications, and addressing, as well as the successful integration of EPMS data into SCADA and Building Management Systems (BMS). The EPMS Manager is accountable for technical quality, schedule adherence, team development, and coordination with internal engineering teams, vendors, and end customers.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Project Leadership
- Lead the configuration and deployment of EPMS hardware and software, including:
- Power meters, protective relays, breakers, and gateways
- Network addressing, communications, and protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP, SNMP, etc.)
- Oversee EPMS integration with:
- SCADA systems
- BMS platforms
- Data historians and enterprise monitoring tools
- Establish and enforce EPMS standards, naming conventions, addressing schemes, and documentation practices.
- Review EPMS architectures, network designs, and system layouts for constructability, scalability, and reliability.
- Support commissioning, functional testing, and site acceptance activities.
Team Management & Development
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of EPMS technicians, engineers, and specialists.
- Assign work, balance workloads, and ensure appropriate staffing for projects.
- Support onboarding and technical training, including field procedures and system standards.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Project Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate EPMS scope with:
- Electrical design and construction teams
- Controls, SCADA, and BMS engineers
- IT/network teams and third-party vendors
- Track schedules, deliverables, and resource needs across multiple projects.
- Identify technical or schedule risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Support project managers with scope definition, estimates, and change management.
Quality, Safety & Documentation
- Ensure EPMS installations meet:
- Applicable electrical codes and standards
- Cybersecurity and network best practices
- Client and internal quality requirements
- Review and approve:
- EPMS submittals and drawings
- Network diagrams and addressing tables
- As-built documentation and test reports
- Promote safe work practices during commissioning and field activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Automation, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience with EPMS, power monitoring, or electrical controls systems.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in technical or field teams.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Power meters, breakers, protective relays
- Low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems
- Industrial and building communications protocols
- Experience integrating EPMS data into SCADA and/or BMS platforms.
Qualifications
- Experience in data center power infrastructure (UPS, switchgear, PDU, RPP, MV/LV systems).
- Familiarity with major EPMS platforms (e.g., Schneider, Eaton, Siemens, ABB, Square D, etc.).
- Commissioning experience in live or mission-critical facilities.
- Understanding of network segmentation, cybersecurity, and OT/IT coordination.
- PMP, NICET, or similar technical certifications.

Work Environment
- Mix of office, commissioning, and job-site work
- Travel to data center and industrial facilities as required
- May support mission-critical environments with off-hours commissioning
