Health & Safety Manager – Data Centre Construction

East London

New Build Data Centre Project (£230m)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a leading construction team delivering a flagship £230m new build data centre project in East London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing project team on a major mission critical development, working on one of the most rapidly growing sectors within construction.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving site safety culture, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the highest standards across all phases of construction delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Health & Safety activities across the project
  • Promote and drive a positive safety culture throughout the site team and supply chain
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, company procedures, and client requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are implemented effectively
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where required
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and ongoing H&S training
  • Work closely with project management, subcontractors, and client representatives
  • Maintain accurate H&S records and reporting documentation
  • Support project delivery whilst ensuring safety remains the number one priority

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Manager on major construction projects
  • Previous experience within Data Centres, MEP, mission critical, or large-scale commercial construction
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and construction compliance
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma
  • IOSH Membership desirable
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
