Bosch Building Technologies Integrator Business

The regional system integration business called Bosch Building Technologies offers solutions and customized services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015. Climatec expanded Bosch’s role as a comprehensive supplier of energy, building automation and security solutions. Climatec is recognized in the building industry as an independent single-source integrator of critical building systems including energy services, building automation and security & life safety in the U.S. market. The company provides consulting, planning, implementation and 24/7 remote management. Climatec is active in several market segments and industries including data centers, commercial real estate buildings, and federal, state, and local government. Climatec has operated as an independent entity, maintaining its offices in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, New York, and New Jersey. Job Summary: HVAC Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial HVAC systems, including chilled water, hot water, steam systems, large air handlers, air distribution, and electronic and pneumatic controls. This role installs new equipment and replacement components in accordance with project specifications and local codes, interprets blueprints and drawings, and supports system start‑up and commissioning activities. The position collaborates with internal teams and contractors to resolve technical issues, generate service proposals, maintain parts inventory, and ensure safe, efficient system operation. Availability for emergency response and strong adherence to safety practices are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and service repairs on chilled water systems, heating hot water and steam systems, large air handlers, air distribution systems and electronic and pneumatic control systems.
  • Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and local building codes.
  • Follow blueprints or engineering specifications to install units and troubleshoot.
  • Work with office to generate proposals including labor and all parts required.
  • Maintain and secure a parts inventory. Recommend purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Strong knowledge of the hazards associated with the occupation, and the safety precautions to maintain all times; examples include knowledge of procedures in handling chemicals such as degreasers, cleaners, Freon and acids
  • Available and willing to be called upon any time, including off working hours to handle emergency duties.
  • Interpret Bosch Building Technologies and other’s drawings to install or service the mechanical equipment or pneumatic controls within a building.
  • Install conduit, tubing, valves, etc. for controls and/or special building systems.
  • Support installation personnel on project sites.
  • Provide information and support for other contractors on project site.
  • Assist as required troubleshooting efforts during either the static or dynamic start up or commissioning of building controls, mechanical equipment, and special systems.
  • Provide input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, and installation for building systems or mechanical equipment.
  • Provide documentation including daily logs, time sheets, service work orders, etc. as required for assigned projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience maintaining, repairing, and installing refrigeration and HVAC units, equipment, and systems; and completion of an associate degree program in HVAC/refrigeration systems; and completion of a two-year technical HVAC/refrigeration training program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • EPA Section 608 certification (CFC) required. Must maintain all customer documentation of refrigerant use.
  • Clean DMV record.

Qualifications:

  • Experience interpreting job documents, owner documents, and company documents to install and/or service pneumatic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Proficiency in working with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
  • Familiarity with AC power circuitry, including breakers, multi-phase power, etc. (120VAC and greater).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathetically understand and address the issues and perceptions of others.
  • Thorough understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.
  • Experience with VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow), boilers, and hydronic systems

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.

Additional Information:

  • Compensation: $35 - $58 per hour
  • Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
