Implementation Manager – Data Center Transport

Location: New Albany, OH

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Implementation Manager to support critical data center transport operations for a major hyperscale client. This role requires strong hands-on experience in optical transport systems, fiber infrastructure, cabling, and on-site field implementation. You will manage daily technician activities, oversee on-site work quality, and ensure timely resolution of customer tickets.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for customer communication and ticket updates
• Manage technician work assignments, track SLAs, and oversee day-to-day operations
• Interface with technical teams and guide field implementation activities in a hyperscale data center environment
• Perform and/or supervise fiber testing, certification, OTDR, loss measurements, and polarity checks
• Oversee cabling work including fiber drops, pathways, routing, labeling, and decommissioning
• Maintain QA/QC oversight for all transport and cabling work completed on-site
• Coordinate DWDM/CWDM transport activities, cross-connects, and backbone transport tasks
• Conduct safety checks, daily inspections, and ensure alignment with OSHA/OHS standards
• Supervise 3rd-party vendors and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality expectations
• Participate in internal coordination meetings and support ongoing process improvements

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on data center experience (transport focus )
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory, team lead, or field management experience
• Strong working knowledge of DWDM/CWDM, optical transport, fiber cabling, and field implementation
• Experience with SMF, MMF, OS2, OM3, OM4, ODF, and related fiber types
• Background in fiber installation, testing, commissioning, and decommissioning
• Ability to work independently, manage workloads, and resolve issues proactively

Certifications (Required or Willing to Obtain)

• OSHA 10 or 30
• CPR/First Aid
• Ergonomics and safety compliance training

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working on ladders and walking long distances across a large campus
• Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday, minimum 9-hour workday
