Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled IT Technician to join our innovative team, focusing on the support of cryptomining and AI Data Center infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT systems and networks that facilitate both AI workloads and cryptomining operations. This role demands hands on expertise in hardware configurations, software management, and optimization for high performance computing environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work under the supervision of the Data Center Manager and Corporate IT Department.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and promptly reporting any hazards.
• Comanage a large LAN with diverse transmission methods and redundancy.
• Assist in network modifications, including physical topology changes, client addressing, VLANs, and firewall policy adjustments.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, cabling, and infrastructure, collaborating with site resources for efficient solutions.
• Ensure stability while evaluating improvements against potential disruptions.
• Collaborate with Corporate IT for system upgrades and new equipment procurement.
• Configure and install new IT equipment.
• Keep records of network repairs and maintenance schedules under management guidance.
• Maintain existing HMI equipment and control infrastructure.
• Manage critical spare parts for network and computer equipment.
• Assist in disaster recovery efforts and maintain Data Center backups.
• Support site network needs as directed by Corporate IT.
• Understand the Miner Dashboard and Foreman, capable of training others in:
• Responding to low hash rates
• Monitoring temperature and weather impacts
• Conducting hard reboots of miners
• Physically troubleshooting offline miners
• Mentor staff in miner repair, including:
  1. Logic and hash board repairs/replacements
  2. Fan and power supply replacements
  3. Cannibalizing parts from nonfunctional miners for repairs
• Support startup activities such as:
  1. Logical miner installations and network integrations
  2. Troubleshooting automation software
  3. Environmental control and sensor management
• Manage logical miner inventory and parts management systems.
• Program miners and assist other Data Center staff as needed.
• Assist with Meet Me Room cross connects.
• Perform smart hand tasks for data center customers
• Perform other assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities

Cryptomining Infrastructure Management:

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware/software for cryptomining rigs to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor mining hardware for temperature, power consumption, and efficiency adjustments.
• Troubleshoot hardware malfunctions, network issues, or mining software problems.
• Implement energy efficient mining strategies while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

AI Infrastructure Management:

• Assist client’s setup, maintenance, and upgrades of AI infrastructure, including GPU clusters and servers.
• Assist with Network and System Optimization:
• Optimize the network for AI, minimizing latency and maximizing throughput.
• Manage Operational Technology server performance and backup solutions to maintain uptime and data integrity.

Security and Compliance:

• Protect IT infrastructure from cybersecurity threats by implementing security protocols and conducting audits.
• Stay informed on industry trends and evolving security risks, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate documentation for hardware/software configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
• Prepare regular performance reports on system utilization and issues encountered.

Qualifications

Experience:

• 2 Years + experience in computer networking and systems maintenance or equivalent certifications.
• Familiar with server class hardware and ability to swap components including assembly and/or installation.
• Hands on experience with cryptomining rigs and/or AI infrastructure.
• Knowledge of AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch is a plus.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in hardware diagnostics and maintenance, particularly with high performance computing hardware.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and server management.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.
• Scripting skills for task automation.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+).
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptomining regulations.
• Dell Hardware Certified
• Prior Data Center with smart hand experience a strong plus.

Working Conditions:

• May require occasional overtime or weekend work.
• Physical labor for hardware installation and maintenance tasks may be necessary.

  Physical Demands:
• The role involves administrative and field support, requiring standing, walking, kneeling, and climbing, as necessary.
• Ability to lift objects up to 35 pounds is frequently required.
• Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
