Job Title: Journeyman Plumber (Data Center Construction)
Project Type: New Construction – Ground-Up Data Center
Position Summary
The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining plumbing systems during a ground-up data center construction project. This role includes working on domestic water, sanitary waste, storm drainage, and specialty piping systems supporting mission-critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate is experienced in large-scale commercial or industrial construction, can read blueprints, and is committed to safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Install plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary waste, vent, storm drainage, and specialty piping systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to determine system layouts and installation methods.
- Measure, cut, thread, solder, braze, and assemble piping using hand and power tools.
- Install fixtures, valves, hangers, supports, and related plumbing components.
- Perform underground and above-ground rough-in work, including slab penetrations and layout.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, and system inspections.
- Assist with system flushing, start-up, and commissioning activities.
Qualifications
- Journeyman-level plumbing experience (typically 4+ years) in commercial or industrial construction.
- Experience on large-scale or mission-critical projects (data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities) .
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in the use of plumbing tools and equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
