Lead Access Control Technician

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout the Role:
Solid Personnel is seeking an experienced Lead Access Control Technician for a major data center project in Sparks, Nevada. The ideal candidate will have 3–6+ years of hands-on access control experience, strong knowledge of access control panel wiring and installation, and experience working with Lenel access control systems. This position will be responsible for leading access control installations, troubleshooting systems, coordinating with other technicians and trades, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications.
Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform installation, termination, wiring, and testing of access control systems.
  • Wire and terminate access control panels, readers, door hardware, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, and related equipment.
  • Install and troubleshoot access control devices and low-voltage cabling.
  • Program, test, and commission access control systems.
  • Troubleshoot wiring, connectivity, and equipment issues.
  • Work with Lenel access control systems and related software/hardware.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and access control drawings.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of other access control technicians.
  • Communicate with project management, site supervision, and other trades.
  • Perform quality-control checks to ensure installations meet project requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all data center security, safety, and site-specific procedures.

  Required Qualifications:  

  • 3–6+ years of commercial access control experience.
  • Proven experience installing and wiring access control panels.
  • Lenel experience strongly .
  • Strong understanding of access control systems and low-voltage wiring.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and system drawings.
  • Previous lead technician or foreman experience .
  • Experience working on large commercial, industrial, or data center projects .
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems independently.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be dependable and able to work in a highly controlled data center environment.
  • Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.
  • OSHA 10 Required
