About the Role
DataPro+ is partnering with a leading international developer and operator in the data centre sector to appoint a Lead Commercial Manager for a major UK-based construction programme.
This senior-level position offers the opportunity to take full commercial responsibility for large-scale, high-value data centre developments. The successful candidate will oversee the financial, contractual, and procurement aspects of projects, ensuring commercial rigour and strategic alignment from inception through delivery.
You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team and manage an experienced commercial team, contributing directly to the business’s continued expansion in the fast-growing data infrastructure market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial delivery of large-scale data centre construction projects.
- Manage cost planning, procurement, and contract administration activities.
- Prepare and monitor detailed budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and partners to optimise commercial outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, financial, and statutory requirements.
- Oversee valuations, change management, and project cost controls.
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of commercial and cost professionals.
- Support strategic planning, reporting, and governance processes at board level.
About You
You’re a commercially focused construction professional with extensive experience managing complex projects, ideally in the data centre, technology, or large-scale infrastructure sectors. You combine strategic acumen with a hands-on approach to project delivery and team leadership.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong track record in commercial or cost management within construction or real estate development.
- Experience managing projects valued £50m+ from tender through to completion.
- Excellent negotiation, budgeting, and contract management expertise.
- Ability to lead and develop commercial teams in a dynamic environment.
- Deep understanding of risk management, compliance, and financial reporting.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., RICS, MRICS, or equivalent) desirable.
