Engineering & Construction Manager

Our client, a leading international organisation in the technology infrastructure sector, is seeking an experienced Engineering & Construction Manager to oversee major data centre development projects. This is a senior role requiring deep technical expertise, rigorous project management capability, and proven leadership in delivering complex civil engineering works to the highest standards.

The Role

The Engineering & Construction Manager will be responsible for full project oversight, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and quality standards. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will drive excellence across planning, execution, and delivery, with full accountability for cost, schedule, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage engineering and construction activities, ensuring compliance with laws, contracts, and quality standards.
• Establish schedules, quality assurance processes, and cost-control systems.
• Conduct pre-construction surveys and review drawings.
• Oversee civil, structural, and architectural works through to completion and warranty.
• Supervise construction quality, materials, and on-site inspections.
• Control project costs, review variations, and ensure financial objectives are met.
• Support contract management, including disputes, claims, and bidding processes.
• Coordinate communications among contractors, supervisors, and engineering teams.
• Resolve design and construction issues and oversee subcontractor work.
• Manage site operations, logs, and coordination meetings.
• Oversee defect resolution from handover through liability period.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering (professional engineer certification preferred).
• 10+ years’ experience in civil engineering construction and management.
• Proven expertise in data centre projects.
• Strong technical skills in construction management and structural engineering.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and manage execution.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and collaborative mindset.
