Role Overview
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliability, and efficient operation of ASC's manufacturing equipment, welding systems, facility infrastructure, and utility systems. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment improvements to maximize uptime, support production goals, and maintain a safe working environment. The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician partners closely with Production, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify and resolve equipment issues while supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency. Success in this role is measured through equipment uptime, maintenance effectiveness, safety performance, and support of production objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Production Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on fabrication and manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain and repair production equipment including: Press Brakes, Power Shears, Plasma Cutting Tables, & Waterjet Cutting Systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems associated with manufacturing equipment.
- Assist with equipment installation, setup, alignment, calibration, and modifications to support production requirements.
- Work closely with production personnel to identify equipment issues and minimize operational downtime.
- Support equipment upgrades and reliability improvement projects.
Welding & Fabrication Equipment
- Maintain and repair industrial welding equipment, including: ESAB Welding Machines, &Miller Welding Machines
- Inspect and service welding power supplies, wire feeders, torches, gas delivery systems, and related equipment.
- Ensure welding systems operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and repairs to minimize disruption to production schedules.
Facility & Utility Systems
- Maintain and repair facility equipment and infrastructure, including Air Compressors and Compressed Air Systems,
- Compactors and Material Handling Equipment, Facility Electrical Systems, Lighting, Panels, and Basic Electrical Controls
- HVAC Systems and Related Components
- Perform general facility maintenance including Roll-Up Doors, Safety Guards, Doors, Access Points, Structural Supports, Safety Devices and Equipment
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as required to support facility operations.
Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment life and reduce unplanned failures.
- Utilize equipment schematics, manuals, drawings, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, PM schedules, and compliance documentation.
- Support the use and maintenance of CMMS platforms, including Asset Essentials or equivalent systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are documented and completed in accordance with company procedures.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Follow all ASC safety policies, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Identify, report, and correct potential safety hazards proactively.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities for equipment failures and safety concerns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, equipment performance, and cost reduction.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the facility.
- Ensure all maintenance activities support ASC's commitments to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification, apprenticeship, or Associate Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or related field .
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment.
- Strong working knowledge of: Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems, Industrial Manufacturing Equipment, Welding Equipment
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication equipment and manufacturing processes .
- Understanding of facility electrical systems and HVAC fundamentals.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS) .
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and fabrication environment with exposure to: Noise, Dust, Heat, Electrical, Systems, & Moving Machinery
- Ability to safely operate tools, ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipment as required.
- Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Gloves, & Steel-Toe Footwear
- Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, or weekends as needed to support maintenance and production requirements.
