Material Handler Supervisor

Overview
The Material Handler Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Materials Manager and working closely with the Materials Coordinator and material handling team. This role oversees the efficient pulling of supplies and parts from the warehouse to support production, engineering, and other departments, while ensuring team performance, accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in operations.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise the materials team to ensure proper training on pulling correct quantities and part numbers within expected time requirements.
Ensure the team is trained to support production supply requirements.
Supervise and train team members on all inventory transactions to maintain accuracy, correct errors, and perform retraining as needed.
Audit daily 5S logs to ensure compliance and consistency.
Maintain forklift certification and train team members for forklift certification.
Oversee team training on printing inventory labels and locating parts in proper bin locations.
Train and oversee the accurate and timely disposition of inventory dispatch requests.
Ensure incoming and outgoing material lanes are handled accurately and within required timeframes.
Train team members on proper material return processes and ensure returned materials meet inventory requirements.
Conduct quarterly employee performance reviews.
Oversee timecard punches to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll alignment.
Analyze daily operations and provide support to other members of the management team.
Report any safety or OSHA violations to the safety team.
Perform other related tasks as required.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements
Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisor work experience.
Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to apply it in a work setting.
Ability to read and understand written instructions.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other applicable software programs.

Qualifications:
Three months of previous warehouse experience.

Material flow and handling
Raw materials management
Documentation accuracy

Skills and Specifications
Forklift certification required, with the ability to train and certify others.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform tasks involving writing, sitting, standing, and bending.
Strong visual acuity and perception.
Ability to read and maintain awareness of field of vision/peripheral surroundings.
Comfortable working in environments with noise and potential chemical vapors.

Shift Details:
Monday through Thursday 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM
$25 an hour plus an additional $3 an hour shift differential, for hours worked after 3:30 PM
