Mullins Mechanical is a leader in industrial and large commercial mechanical, plumbing, HVAC construction projects. Our projects are often in the industrial and manufacturing environments, such as manufacturing facilities, automotive plants, chemical plants, distribution centers, warehouses, and other large commercial facilities. We are a self-performing specialty contractor specializing in design-build applications, HVAC systems, plumbing, process piping systems, boiler and chiller systems, equipment installation and rigging, plant relocation and maintenance, and metal fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials to ensure proper
handling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all materials and equipment on-site.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste, loss, or damage to materials.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Develop and implement material management plans based on project specifications
and schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to identify material requirements
for mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related equipment).
- Manage the logistics of material deliveries to the construction site, ensuring timely
and efficient transportation.
- Coordinate with site teams to distribute materials to work areas as needed.
- Ensure proper storage conditions to protect materials from environmental damage
or theft.
- Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to align
material availability with construction schedules.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, quality concerns, or discrepancies in orders.
- Provide regular updates to project leadership on material status, shortages, or potential risks.
- Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain detailed records of procurement, inventory, and distribution activities for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Adhere to company policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Anticipate and resolve material shortages, delays, or quality issues to prevent project
disruptions.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing materials for large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical construction materials, including HVAC systems,
piping, and related equipment.
- 2+ years of experience in material handling or expediting in construction (mechanical experience ).
- Familiarity with HVAC, piping, plumbing systems, and related materials.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with common computer/office equipment and software .
- Experience with OSHA workplace safety standards.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and work in outdoor jobsite conditions.
- Frequent walking, bending, and material handling required.
- Clean driving history/record.
- Forklift and telehandler operation experience (certifications ).
