Job Title: Mechanical Lead - Data Centres\n\nLocation: Midlands & Home Counties (Site Based)\n Project Values: £25m - £150m\n\nRole Overview\n\nWe are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Lead to oversee the delivery of complex Data Centre projects across the Midlands and Home Counties. The Mechanical Lead will play a key role within the project leadership team, taking full ownership of mechanical services delivery on high-value, technically demanding schemes.\n\nThis Mechanical Lead position is suited to an individual with a strong background working for a main contractor, particularly where mechanical packages are self-delivered. The role will involve close coordination with electrical, CSA, commercial, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project outcomes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAct as the Mechanical Lead for all mechanical services on assigned Data Centre projects\n\nManage and oversee the self-delivery of mechanical packages, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity\n\nCoordinate mechanical works with electrical and structural teams to ensure seamless integration\n\nLead mechanical delivery from design development through installation, commissioning, and final handover\n\nReview and manage mechanical design information, drawings, and technical submissions\n\nMonitor programme milestones and ensure mechanical works are delivered in line with the master programme\n\nSupport cost control, change management, and value engineering initiatives\n\nEnsure full compliance with health & safety standards, statutory regulations, and data centre requirements\n\nRepresent the mechanical function in client and stakeholder meetings as the designated Mechanical Lead\n\nKey Requirements\n\nProven experience in a Mechanical Lead, M&E Manager, or Mechanical Project Manager role within a main contractor environment\n\nStrong experience delivering Data Centre or other mission-critical projects\n\nDemonstrable background in self-delivering mechanical services packages\n\nExcellent technical knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, cooling, pipework, and plant\n\nExperience working on projects valued between £25m and £150m\n\nStrong leadership, coordination, and communication skills required of a Mechanical Lead\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nOpportunity to join major, high-profile Data Centre projects as the Mechanical Lead\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\n\nLong-term project pipeline across the Midlands and Home Counties\n\nClear progression opportunities within a growing technical delivery team
