Overview
A highly experienced Project Manager with strong Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Piping (MEP) expertise is required to support data centre construction projects in the Reno, NV area.
Who we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, plus a minimum of 10 years’ related industry experience; or equivalent education and experience.
- Proficient in essential computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email, load calculations, and cost analysis software.
- Energetic, proactive, and collaborative, with a passion for teamwork and professional growth.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of both office and site-based work environments.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Project Leadership
- Apply expertise in mechanical, piping or electrical trades to support MEP project delivery.
- Review and analyse design proposals, specifications, and technical documentation to validate feasibility.
- Contribute to estimating and pre-construction activities.
- Review subcontractor proposals to ensure scope alignment and compliance.
- Support contract negotiations with subcontractors and vendors across multiple MEP disciplines.
- Ensure subcontractor construction documents meet project requirements.
- Assist with awarding subcontracts and managing contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate design and engineering teams to maintain alignment with schedules, budgets, and technical expectations.
- Monitor project financials and report progress.
- Track construction progress to ensure alignment with the MEP schedule.
- Oversee material purchasing and delivery to meet project timelines and specifications.
- Review and approve subcontractor and vendor payment applications.
- Issue and manage changes in scope, securing timely pricing and approvals.
- Visit job sites as required to evaluate progress and quality, with potential temporary relocation during peak MEP delivery phases.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design and scope.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full implementation and enforcement of site safety requirements.
- Maintain high standards of quality, technical accuracy, and project documentation.
Supervisory Duties
- Oversee on-site and contract drafting personnel.
- Provide direction to administrative staff supporting MEP project work.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Combination of office and site-based work.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and manual tasks; occasional climbing, balancing, or lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, mechanical equipment, noise, and varying temperatures on site.
- Overtime may be required during peak phases.
